Hey,

The selection process for IISC is based on the merit list of one of the following national examinations:

1.KVPY

KVPY-SA(those who appeared in 2017 and got selected for the Fellowship)

KVPY-SB(those who appeared in 2018 and selected for the fellowship)

KVPY-SX(those who appeared in 2018 and selected for the Fellowship)

KVPY selected through the empowerment initiatives for SC/ST candidates and selected for fellowship

2.IIT JEE Mains appearing in 2019 and securing minimum 60% for general

3.IIT JEE Advanced appearing in 2019 and securing minimum 60%  for general

4.NEET UG appearing in 2019 and securing minimum 60% for general.

Now coming to your question, yes you need to clear both Aptitute test and interview of KVPY.since securing fellowship is only possible if you clear both aptitute test and interview of KVPY

Hope this helps.

Good luck.
