Hi!

Yes, it is necessary to attend an entrance examination if you wish to take admission in any of the reputed business school in India. Almost every business school in India offering an MBA programme accepts the percentile and scores obtained by candidates in the management entrance examination. Whether it's an IIM or any other business school (non-IIM) which offers an MBA accepts the entrance test scores. To take admission in the Indian business schools, candidates can appear for any of the following entrance examinations, namely CAT , XAT, SNAP , NMAT, CMAT , MAT, etc. However, some of the IITs such as IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee exempt some candidates to appear for these above mentioned entrance examinations subject to the condition that they meet the admission criteria specified by the institute. If you want to take admission to the regular, full-time MBA programme, then you must appear for an entrance examination followed by the further admission process such as appearance for the WATPI or GDPI process.
