Is it possible to do M.Sc nutrition after B.Sc microbiology.

General requirement to join for M.Sc Food and Nutrition is an undergraduate degree with minimum 50% marks in the same field or equivalent discipline, like (Bachelors of Science degree with (Home Sc./ Med / Non-Med / Bio-Sc. / Medical Science & Allied Medical/ Nutrition & Dietetics/ Food Tech./ Veterinary Microbiology & Parasitology/ Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology/ Clinical Chemistry/ Public Health & Allied Sciences))

Nutritionists or dieticians can build a career in the following sectors:
1. R&D (Research and development).
2. Healthcare sector (Hospitals, clinics, health centers, etc.)
3. Government schemes and organizations.
4. NGOs.
5. Teaching and education sector.
To build a career in the R&D sector, qualifications like M.Phil and Ph.D. will be of use. M.Sc, M.Phil and Ph.D. qualifications will also enable one to take up the job post of a lecturer or instructor.

Hello Anusha,

M.Sc. in Nutrition and Dietetics is a 2-year full-time post graduate divided across 4 semesters. Yes, definitely you can pursue this course after bsc microbiology.

For this course minimum eligibility is required to fulfill that is minimum aggregate score of 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) at the level of graduation. Students in their final year of graduation can also apply for the course on provisional basis.

Also admission in this course is based on entrance exam like gate.
