Improving your Kerala Board 12th marks after passing is generally not possible through the normal re-examination process, as the board does not commonly provide an official "improvement exam" for the plus two standard like some other state boards. Typically, the Kerala State Education Board allows students to apply for re-evaluation or scrutiny of their answer scripts if they believe there might be an error in marking. Re-evaluation can potentially help increase marks, but the chances of increasing your overall percentage significantly (from 72% to 75%) solely via rechecking are limited as it depends on the error margin in evaluation.

The Kerala Board’s official website and recent updates do not mention a formal improvement exam for bettering marks after passing. However, it is recommended to contact your school or the Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan (the Kerala Board examination authority) to confirm if any special provisions exist or if supplementary exams can be taken for improvement, though supplementary exams are usually intended for failing subjects rather than improving passing marks.

If you want to improve your percentage, a common practice students follow is enrolling in professional or degree courses that accept improvement marks or give weightage to semester exam performances. Alternatively, pursuing higher education with good scores can overshadow small differences in board percentages.

Another indirect option is to pursue certifications, entrance exams, and coursework that add value beyond your board marks, which can boost academic profiles.

In summary, Kerala Board 12th students cannot officially improve their marks through a formal improvement exam after passing. Re-evaluation is an option but with limited scope for large increases. Checking directly with Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan or your school is essential for clarity on the latest policies.

Yes, you can improve Kerala 12th marks after passing through the DHSE Improvement Exam. It is usually held in July/August right after the results. You are allowed to improve in one subject per year to raise your percentage. If you want to improve in more, you must appear as a private candidate later. The better of the two marks (main exam vs improvement) will be counted. With 72%, you can target a strong subject to push your score to 75% or more.

Hello,

Yes, it is possible to improve your Kerala +2 (Class 12) marks after passing.
The Kerala Board gives students a Say/Improvement exam option.

  • You can appear for the improvement exam in the subjects you want to increase marks.

  • This exam is usually held soon after the regular results (in the same year or next year, depending on the board schedule).

  • You need to apply through your school or directly with the Kerala DHSE when applications open.

  • The better of the two marks (old or new) will be considered.

So yes, you can try again in one or more subjects and aim for 75% or more.

Hope it helps !

DHSE state that regular candidates who have passed all subjects with a D+ grade or above are eligible to appear for improvement in one subject. Your situation of passing with 72% makes you eligible for this pathway.

So,you can fill out improvement form through your school which is affiliated to kerala board.

Hope it helps..

Hi,

You could do this by two ways:

  1. Re-evaluation: If you are confident about your performance and feel that the marks are less, you can apply for re-evaluation. You can also opt to get a scanned copy of the paper to see your errors.
  2. Improvement Exams: (SAY exam) You can re-write the subjects (upto 3, depending upon the current rule) whichever you want to improve.

The exams are conducted usually within a few weeks after the release of results. For improvement exams, the procedure is to apply and register through your respective school.

All the best!

Hello,

So Yes, you can increase your Kerala Board 12th marks even if you have already passed, but there are only a few options. If you have passed in all the subjects, you can apply for the Improvement Exam. In this exam, you can opt for just one subject and rewrite it. If your score in that subject is higher, then your overall percentage will be higher. For instance, as you scored 72% and need to score 75%, you can choose the subject for which you are sure that you will score higher marks. With proper preparation, this can assist you in accomplishing your goal.

Revaluation (re-checking) is another possible option. You can ask the board to re-examine your paper if you believe you deserve more marks. When revaluing, the examiner examines your answers with more caution, ensures no question is overlooked, and fixes any error in marking. Keep in mind that marks can increase, decrease, or stay the same.

If you didn't pass in any subject, then the board offers the SAY (Supplementary) Exam, through which you can reappear in those subjects. However, in your scenario, as you have already passed with 72%, the optimum option is the Improvement Exam for a single subject.

So, for your marks to go up from 72% to 75%, you need to apply through your school for the Improvement Exam and study hard in the topic you choose. If you put concentration and effort, you can surely enhance your mark.

Good luck with your studies and success ahead!
