MIT is one of the most reputed colleges in South India. Established in 1949 by Rajam, it was initially an autonomous institution later affiliated to Anna University. The college is known for the departments like Electronics and Instrumentation, Automobile Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering. It also has strong alumni base. Few of the notable alumni are Dr. Abdul Kalam, Sujatha (Writer)
