It totally depends on your dream college.
If you feel satisfied studying at some top NIT rather than getting in to an IIT then you should give your best attempt in the upcoming JEE MAINS examination but i do have a small suggestion for you.
Please do realise IIT's were the prominent research institutes well known globally it offers you both a High package and enormous research opportunities indeed the student's here learn alot from there peer groups than from there professors.you will be having alot of fun filled learning if you get in there.
So dream big!
The Syllabus of JEE Mains and JEE Advanced intersects try to go through it once,you will realise that it's possible to study for both JEE MAINS and JEE Advanced parallely without sacrificing any of them as the subjects you will be learning are similar in both cases and the only thing that varies is depth of the subject you need to study.
