is petroleum engineering is also geology and what is its scope in future ? what type of course is it ??

Petroleum Engineering is a combination of: Geology, Geophysics, Geochemistry, Reservoir Engineering, Drilling Engineering and Production Engineering.

The scope of Petroleum Engineering is bright in India. There are lots of exploration going on in India right now in Gujarat, Rajasthan and in South. Demand of Petroleum Engineers is going to increase in times to come. There are many companies working in India presently both International and Domestic.Petroleum engineering is one of the highly paid industry. Petroleum engineers are involved in the exploration and production of oil and natural gas and also in each stage of oil field evaluation, development and production.
