Is this is truth that UPSC selects elite students and from wealthy background... Also backward category students get less marks in interviews? What Your opinion please comment?
Hello,
No, this is not true. UPSC does not select candidates based on wealth, background or family status. The exam is the same for everyone.
UPSC follows a strict and transparent process. Candidates are selected only on the basis of merit. The interview board checks personality, confidence, communication and awareness, not caste or money.
Many toppers come from middle class, rural and backward backgrounds every year. Also, interview marks vary for all categories. Backward category candidates do not get fewer marks just because of their category.
So, it is a myth that UPSC favours only elite or wealthy students. Hard work and preparation matter the most.
Hope it helps !
