First of all, no book guarantees you marks. Unless you are willing to work hard. And I'm sure you will.

Then, is there one book per subject? I don't believe there is. Say you're studying chemistry, you'll absolutely need two books, one for Organic and the other for Inorganic chemistry. I'll try to list two books per subject here.

Chemistry - L.G. Wade(organic), NCERT(Inorganic)
Maths - TMH. This book has examples as well as unsolved questions, this should suffice.
Physics - HCV for theory, and past year papers for practice.
