My brother got a seat in Josaa councelling it NIT-Warangal but we want a better option we choose CSAB councelling. In CSAB councelling we chosee only 2 options but in round 1 allocation we got NIT Warangal as choice 3, which not in the choosen options. My doubt is that now, If i do withdraw from CASB councelling will the seat of Josaa be removed or should i proceed for further rounds
Hello!
If your brother already got NIT Warangal in JoSAA counselling and later participated in CSAB, withdrawing from CSAB will not automatically cancel the JoSAA seat unless explicitly mentioned in the guidelines. Generally, JoSAA and CSAB are two separate counselling processes, but if you have accepted a CSAB allotment and paid the fees, it can override the JoSAA seat. In your case, since NIT Warangal was in JoSAA choice but not in your CSAB choices, be cautious contact the official helpline before making any withdrawal. It’s better to confirm in writing through email so you have proof in case of disputes.
Thank you for reading, and I hope you make the best choice without losing your seat.
If your brother withdraws from CSAB after accepting or retaining his JoSAA seat this is what happens:
1. If your brother withdraws from CSAB after accepting or retaining his JoSAA seat the JoSAA seat will remain if it was retained frozen or floated
2. If he applies in CSAB and does not get a new seat the JoSAA seat will stay the same
3. If he gets a new seat through CSAB the JoSAA seat will be canceled automatically and cannot be reclaimed
Hey Swetha:)
Thanks for reaching out!
Since your brother already has an NIT Warangal seat from JoSAA and in CSAB round 1 he got NIT again (even it wasn't in your filled options) withdrawing from CSAB will not make him lose the JoSAA seat. That seat will only be cancelled if he gets and accepts a different seat through CSAB.So,If he's fine keeping the current seat,he can withdraw safely. If he still wants to try for a better seat,he should stay in CSAB further rounds, there's no risk for the JoSAA seat unless a new seat is accepted.
Hope this clarifies your query!
