Hello, your rank is good as you have general category you will have less chances to get top Nit like Trichi,Wrangal,Karnataka,Bhopal, Jaipur, Nagpur, Surat, Allahabad but chances looks possible in Nit like Jalandhar, Raipur, Hamirpur ,Agartala Manipur ,Mizoram ,Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Durgapur .

You can also get New IIIT like Agartala ,Manipur, Bhagalpur ,Ranchi ,Nagpur, Kottayam.
All depends on this year cutoffs.
Cutoff changes every year.

You can also apply for JP Noida.
Chancy of Cs looks possible.

Apply for Jossa counseling and then for Csab counseling which takes place after Jossa counseling and wait till last round of Csab counseling.

First of all you are secured a good general rank of 40000 in JEE mains 2020.

Now with this much general rank you can get many good NIT if you belong from home state quota like NIT Durgapur or NIT Jamshedpur or NIT Bhopal, etc.
But chances of getting top nits are negligible with this much rank even from home state quota.

But if you belong from other state then the chances of NIT in which you can get seat are :-

• Nit Meghalaya
  
• Nit manipur
  
• Nit mizoram
  
• Nit arunachal pradesh
  
• Nit srinagar
