Various engineering entrance exams are held at the National and State level. Universities also conduct their own entrance exams for admission to the Engineering programmes. 
Engineering entrance exams are

JEE Main- For admission to NITs, IIITs, GFTIs. 

JEE Advanced- For admission to IITs.

Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT)- It is a University level exam conducted for admission to BITS campuses.

VIT Engineering entrance exam (VITEEE)- for admission to Vellore Institute of Technology
