It is always good to have a plan about which course you would like to do in which college and get the degree from. If you have an Idea about the above then you have to work accordingly to clear the exams that you have mentioned in your question.
After writing the examination you might have an idea about how well you have performed in the examination and what grade or mark you can get.If you can evaluate your examination performance according to that then you can go ahead and start comparing your expected grade/score/rank with all the college cutoff's from the previous year and get prepared accordingly.
