Dear Utkarsh,
If you really think that by dropping a year you are surely going to be able to get good score then go for it . But, remember if you are not confident and dedicated enough then please don't waste your time. I also dropped one year but was not able to get good score in JEE Mains in my next trial, as i had hoped. So, ultimately i took the best college available to me according to by eligibility and i think it is alright till now.
If i were you I would have joined the BITS Dual Degree Program or Simply the BITS BTECH course.
