It'll be helpful if you can provide me the details or name of the college in which you are seeking admission. As some colleges have good track record in lower branches and is at par with that of core branches. 

But I'll prefer you not to choose college before branch. Try to get admission in top core branches in a medium college instead of getting admission into a lower branch in a renowned college.
