First of all, it’s great that you are preparing seriously for JEE despite the challenges. Don’t lose hope. Many students take alternative routes and still reach top institutions.
Regarding your eligibility for JEE Advanced, the key rule to understand is this: A student is allowed to appear for JEE Advanced in the same year or the following year of passing Class 12 or equivalent examination .
Since you are giving your 12th board exams in 2024, this will be considered your first attempt year . So, if you clear JEE Main 2024 and qualify for JEE Advanced, you are eligible to write JEE Advanced in 2024 .
You’ll also be eligible for a second attempt in 2025 , but not beyond that, as per the current rules.
One important point is that you must meet all other eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced, such as:
Being among the top 2.5 lakh candidates in JEE Main
Not having taken JEE Advanced more than twice
Not having accepted admission in an IIT in the past
Make sure you have all the correct documents, including your 10th and 12th certificates when results are declared.
