Dear candidate, IIT MADRAS does offer this course but at Post Graduate level. IIT Bombay offers degree in Petroleum exploration at PG level but you need to do BSc or MSc as background not engineering. ISM is equivalent to IIT which offers degree in PE at UG, PG and Ph.D level.

As far as i know petroleum engg is available in IIT Madras but at posgraduate level or IIT Madra offers mtech in petroleum engg , it does not provide btech course in petroleum engg ,currently iit madras offers following undergrad 4 year courses:

3. Civil Engineering
4. Computer Science & Engineering
5. Electrical Engineering
6. Engineering Physics
7. Mechanical Engineering
8. Metallurgical & Material Engineering
