Yes, students can join the Indian Institute of Technology Madras for an online Bachelor of Science (BS) degree without taking the JEE through the online BS in Data Science and online BS in Electronic Systems programs, which involve a 4-week qualifier process after students complete the 12th grade. IIT Madras offers the IIT Madras BS Degree with flexibility to exit at any level. Based on the courses completed and credits earned, the learner can receive a Foundation Certificate from IITM CODE (Centre for Outreach and Digital Education) or Diploma(s) from IIT Madras or BSc Degree in Programming and Data Science from IIT Madras or BS Degree in Data Science and Applications from IIT Madras.

IIT Madras BS Data Science and Applications Selection Process 

• All regular entry applicants must go through the Qualifier Process for admission to the Foundation Level for the IIT Madras BS programme. 

• The qualifier process mainly includes 4 weeks of coursework based on lecture videos, assignments, and live sessions of the four foundational level courses - English I, Mathematics for Data Science I, Statistics for Data Science I, and Computational Thinking - that will be provided through our online portal. Every week, an assignment must be submitted for grading in each course.

• Based on the content covered in the 4 weeks of study, at the end of the 4 weeks, a qualifier exam will be conducted for eligible candidates.

• Students eligible to appear for the most recent JEE Advanced are directly admitted to the Foundation Level.

Bachelor of Technology and Master of Technology in Engineering Design (B.Tech+M.Tech) is a full-time Dual Degree engineering programme. BS+MS is also dual degree course offered by IIT Madras in 2 specialisations including BS and MS Biological Sciences Dual Degree and BS and MS Physics Dual Degree. Candidates graduating/ graduated from IITs with B.Tech. Degree and having CGPA of 8.0 (on a scale of 10) and above can apply without a GATE Score as per admission process of IIT Madras. • Candidates willing to take the IIT Madras MBA course must appear for the CAT/GMAT. 

• After securing a valid CAT score, students need to appear for CAP and the counselling process.
