The syllabus of CAT and MAT are similar but not exactly same. Both the exams differ from each other in exam parameters as well as competitive level.

The CAT exam is based on following sections:
Quantitative Aptitude (QA),
Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR),
Verbal Ability &Reading Comprehension (VARC)

Whereas MAT exam has following sections :
Indian and Global Environment
Language Comprehension
Data Analysis and Sufficiency
Mathematical Skills
Intelligence and Critical Reasoning
