Hello Akash, Petroleum Engineering is a field of engineering that deals with the extracting oil and gas from the deposits below the earth surface. it is concerned with the study related to the production of hydrocarbon, which can be either crude oil or natural gas. This field started with the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical and petroleum Engineers(AIME) by University of Pittsburgh in 1915.

Now a days petroleum Engineers are one of the world highest paid engineering. Government sectors such as ONGC,HPCL, BPCL offers job in petroleum Engineering.so its demand is good now a days, and its demand is high in Gulf Countries like UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman etc.
So, petroleum Engineering is good field to choice, it will remain ever green at least for 30-40 years, after that it may decrease but for now it is good carrer option.
