Until last year Maharashtra had 70:30 State reservation policy. The State Quota seats were filled divided into 70% Regional quota and 30% State Quota. The 70% Regional quota seats were reserved for Candidates belonging to Vidarbha, Marathwada and Rest of Maharashtra. And the Constitutional quota of Maharashtra is for Candidates belonging to SC, ST, Vimukta Jati/Denotified Tribes, NT-A,B,C,D and OBC. NT-B falls under OBC Category. But from this year, the 70:30% reservation has been scrapped. From this year, it would be General Category, EWS, OBC, SC,ST.
