Hello Nagarajan, Greetings!

CSE is related to the core concepts of computer science and IT deals with the applications of computer science.

But in the actual practice, especially in India both are almost same. Out of 50 odd subjects that you study over the 4 years of engineering, 45 are bound to common between these two streams, give or take a few.

The difference is usually in subjects that will not matter unless you choose to do MS/PhD in one of those subjects later.

Also, placement of both streams is almost same in all colleges.

Thank you, best of luck.
