For home state candidate, the less preferred course of Mining Engineering closed at a rank of 34000 last year.

This rank can be achieved with a score of roughly 150 marks. So there you have it, if you are a General home state candidate, you'll need to get better marks than 150 to get admission into VNIT. If you are looking at top branches, then you should look to score above 220 to make sure.
