B.Sc. Forestry program is 4 years long. It is an Undergraduate Degree program. The main aim of this program is to train students to become Forestry professionals. Students who are generally not so much into those regular professional courses that offers office jobs after graduation, may find this course attractive and useful. Students who have passed 12th Science stream board examinations (with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects) from a recognized board are eligible to apply for this course. In case of some institutes, minimum marks criteria may exist (normally 40-50% marks in PCB subjects). There is definitely a lot of scope, One may land the job of a forester or forest department officer (examination is conducted though), plantation and resort manager, forest product marketing, forest products purchasing manager, Research and Development sector etc. Starting salary is generally around 15k-25k per month.
