Cut off of NEET is the minimum percentile score which must be obtained by candidates in NEET UG exam, in order to become eligible for further admission process. Candidates who secure less than minimum cut off percentile in NEET entrance, they will not be provided an All India Rank (AIR) by CBSE. All India Rank is the basis on which merit list is prepared by admitting authorities and counselling process is conducted.

MCI (Medical Council of India) and DCI (Dental Council of India) have stipulated different minimum cut off scores for different categories. General or Unreserved (UR) candidates are required to obtain a minimum of 50th percentile in NEET test in order to become eligible for admission to MBBS or BDS courses. However, SC/ST/OBC candidates are required to obtain a minimum of 40th percentile in order to become eligible for further admission process. Similarly, candidates belonging to UR-PH category are required to obtain at least 45th percentile, while those belonging to SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required to secure a minimum of 40th percentile to become eligible for MBBS/BDS admissions. Minimum cut off percentile each category is required to obtain in order to become eligible for further admission process is also mentioned in the table below.

Candidates must note that Central Government reserves the right to change the lower minimum percentile score required to become eligible for admission to MBBS or BDS courses, given that sufficient candidates in respective categories fail to obtain cut off marks as prescribed above.
