CSE has a slight advantage over IT, due to the increase in scope and prospects in research and jobs. CSE has a more structured curriculum than IT. However in most institutes, most companies in Software or Analytics sector like Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Honeywell, Google, Amazon, etc. open for both Computer Science and Information Technology branches, and placements of both branches are comparable.
