Hello,

Cmat is easier when compared to cat but when I want to tell you some eyeopeners.

When I compare CMAT and CAT, I see the number of seats available in good colleges rather than level of difficulty of the questions. No doubt if we comapre only on the level of difficulty CAT is ahead of CMAT but lets look at the competition in these exams.

Through CAT you fight to get admission among 3500+ seats in 19 IIMs and 1500+ seats in other colleges (securing place in the list of top 20 mba colleges of India), making it around 5000+ seats in top business schools of India.

This year around 2.25 lakhs students took the exams for those 5000 seats. Concluding it we can say approximately 50 students competing for 1 seat.

Coming to CMAT, there are many good colleges but when it is compared with the top IIMs there is only 1 college  JBIMS, Mumbai. There are only 18 seats on which college accepts CMAT score.

This year around 60000 students appeared in CMAT making it 3000+ students fighting for 1 seat in JBIMS.

See the huge competition in CMAT.

Don't judge any exam only on the basis of students appearing in the same but see the reality. See the probability of yours geeting your desired seat through that competition. There are also many other good colleges accepting CMAT score. But if your goal is to do MBA from top 10 colleges then CMAT is more competitive than CAT.

Cheers !!

The questions in CMAT are relatively easier as compared to CAT. These exams have different patterns and type of questions so you need to have your strategy accordingly.

According to the exam pattern of CMAT 2018, the exam comprises four sections: Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation and General Awareness.

General awareness is altogether a new section and you have to prepare fully for it. Reasoning questions also have a different pattern than CAT.

The total number of questions will be 100, with each section having 25 questions.

The time duration for the entrance exam will be 180 minutes.
