Hello bro...
I am a student of VIT so I can tell you in better way.
So in first semester you have to do nothing . Just try to maintain CGPA above 9. In second semester you have to take two courses {semiconductor and one more }extra then your usual courses and you need to score decent marks in these subjects.
And overall after second semester if you have CGPA greater than 9 then You will get ECE easily there.

Nope if you study it is all easy.
