Hey Nisha,
The Best of Four subjects need to include the following –
-
One language (Core/Elective/Functional)
-
One subject in which admission is sought – A candidate needs to include the subject in Best of Four, in for the Honours programme in which admission is being sought, otherwise a disadvantage of 2.5% will be applicable to the calculates Best of Four percentage
-
Any two other academic/elective subjects as per List A – If a candidate doesn’t include the subject as enlisted in List A, then a disadvantage of 2.5% will be imposed to the Best of Four calculated
-
List A includes the following disciplines offered by the University of Delhi for admissions to the three-year undergraduate programmes must be treated as Academic/Elective subjects. All the disciplines subjects must have at least 70% component of theory and 30% component of practical. Theory component doesn’t include internal assessments or continuous evaluation
Candidates interested in taking admissions for an Honours Programme in the University will have to include the subject (the subject in which admission is sought) in Best of Four subjects (One Language and Three subjects), failing to do so will result in a disadvantage of 2.5% in the best of four marks.
Lets say for example your score in subjects be English-93, Commerce- 97 Accounts-97, Maths- 94, Economics-90 , Physical education- 96
Then your best four subjects would be english, Commerce, accounts and physical education. And in this case your percentile would be (93+97+97+96)/4 * 100= 95.25%
You have to include english as one your best four subject if you opt to do ba english hons.

Hello
For English hons you need to include English marks in best of 4 calculations and combination of three best other subjects from among the following: any language subjects (core/elective) from List A, Economics, Geography, History, Legal studies, Mathematics, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology and sociology.
If you include any other subject from list b you will face deduction of 1% per subject and maximum of 2% overall if you include more subjects.
If the subject is not listed in list b you face a deduction of 2.5%.
I hope this helps. All the best
