DU Delhi Admission Process

  • Delhi University Admissions 2025 are ongoing. Students are offered admission based on performance in the entrance exam. 
  • DU round 2 upgraded allotment for CW, ECA, Sports and Ward quota is scheduled to be released on August 22, 2025. Students must accept the allotted seat from August 22 to 23, 2025, and the last date to pay the fees is August 24, 2025. 
  • Delhi University Round 1 Spot Admission for BA/BBA LLB (Hons) has been done. The last date to pay the fee is August 23, 2025.
  • DU Entrance Exams Accepted: CUET-UG and CUET-PG scores are accepted for UG and PG programmes. 

Delhi University offers admission to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes. University of Delhi admissions 2025 to undergraduate courses are based on the CUET UG exam and are done through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). Delhi University admission to PG courses is offered based on the CUET PG exam. 

For DU Delhi admission to Ph.D programmes, candidates are shortlisted based on their performance in the entrance test and personal interview round. DU UG Admission Process 2025

  • For DU admission to undergraduate programmes, candidates have to meet the Delhi University eligibility criteria.

  • Next, eligible candidates need to register and appear for the CUET UG conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).

  • Following that, the CUET result is declared and it carries the candidate’s score in the entrance exam and its qualifying status. 

  • The CUET merit list is prepared based on the performance of the candidates in the entrance test.

  • The university then releases the CUET cutoff after the completion of the counselling registration process.

  • The shortlisted candidates have to participate in the CUET counselling process online.

DU PG Admission Process 2025

  • First, candidates are required to meet the eligibility criteria for Delhi University PG admission.

  • Then, eligible candidates have to register and appear for the Central University Entrance Test for PG (CUET PG) conducted by NTA. 

  • The University of Delhi will release the merit lists of CUET in online mode.

  • Candidates whose names have appeared on the merit list of CUET PG are qualified for further rounds of admission. 

  • Candidates who meet the requisite cutoff of CUET PG have to participate in the counselling of CUET PG.

Delhi University Seats and Admission Channels

Admission to Delhi University and its affiliated colleges is conducted exclusively through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Candidates must take at least one language test from either Section 1A or Section 1B. For admission to the BA Programme, candidates also have the option to take the General Test.

The previous “best of four” marks system has been replaced by CUET 2025 scores for undergraduate admissions at Delhi University. Approximately 70,000 UG seats will be available for admission in 2025, though this figure may vary slightly due to annual revisions. Additionally, around 3,291 seats under the ECA (Extracurricular Activities) and Sports categories will be offered as an alternative admission route for candidates with exceptional achievements in these areas across DU colleges.

I am humanities student and I've written CUET (one language, one domain and general test) what is the minimum score I need to get out of 750 to get into good college in DU?

For admission to Delhi University through CUET UG , your chances depends on your CUET score out of 750 , the program you are applying for and the college preference. Since you are a Humanities students who attempted one language , one domain subject and the general test, here is a general idea :-

1.Top colleges like Hindu, Hansraj , Lady Shri Ram , Miranda House , SRCC , Ramjas ,Kirori Mal :-

  • requires a very high CUET score like you should aim for 650 + out of 750 for popular courses like Political Science , Psychology , English , Economics , History

2.Mid Tier Colleges like Gargi, Kamla Nehru , Daulat Ram , PGDAV :-

  • Generally accepts scores around 550-600 out of 750 depending on the course demand

3.Other DU colleges off campus or less competitive courses may considers students with scores in the range of 450-500 out of 750 .

4.Cut offs vary every year depending on the number of applicants, difficulty level of CUET, reservation category and course popularity

5.If you belong to SC/ST/OBC Categories then you may get admission at a relatively lower score compared to general category students.
