Correct Answer: 1875

Solution : The correct answer is 1875.

The Indian Meteorological Department was established in 1875, with its headquarters at Calcutta. The headquarters was shifted to Shimla in 1905, to Pune in 1928, and then to Delhi in 1944. IMD has expanded its infrastructure for meteorological observations, communications, forecasting and weather services.

India is the first developing country in the world to have its geostationary satellite, INSAT, for continuous weather monitoring.
