Manufacturing engineering is subset of mechanical engineering so you can give GATE in the same.

Note that GATE exam is the most important exam after JEE to get admission into the IITs. So, obviously there should be a clarity on your part as to which exam you need to write. 

 

So, to be honest, to take admission in the postgraduate course of Manufacturing Engineering, you need to give the GATE exam for Mechanical Engineering.
