The MCI conducts the All India Counselling to fill 15% AIQ seats. This means if your college has 100 seats, 15 of them are reserved for candidates from all over India. The counselling process sounds a little complex, but it is as follows:

  1. Candidates register for 1st round of counselling and fill their choice of colleges and are allotted colleges in round 1
  2. The candidates not selected in round 1 register again for round 2 and fill in fresh choices. Candidates selected in round 1 and wishing for upgradation can also apply again
  3. After getting a seat, a candidate has to report to that college and complete all formalities.

If a person fails to report, that seat is reverted to the state quota. This holds true for all the states.
