The program provides training to the students in both technical skills and critical analysis of the media spectrum. The course is comprised of the concept of news, the role of journalism in society, history of journalism, skills in identifying news and also covers political and social issues of particular society. Students can opt. for specializations in various fields of journalism such as Sports Journalism, Science Journalism, Environment Journalism, Fashion Journalism, Film Making, Advertising, Corporate communications etc. The objectives of the program are: • Introduce students to the various fields of journalism and mass communication • To facilitate the understanding of strategic application of evolving technologies in the field of Mass Communication and Journalism • To enhance the knowledge of students with regard to various disciplines of Mass Communication like advertising, journalism, public relations, photography and film-making • To develop the use of research methodologies appropriate to the discipline of Mass Communication and Journalism.
A candidate must have Pass with 50% (GEN) / 45% (SC/ST) aggregate marks in Bachelor’s degree (any Discipline) or equivalent.
