72 MonthsPh.D. programme shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned.
Allied branches -Mechanical / Production / Electrical / Electronic/Materials Science / Electronics Science / Physics.
Research Specializations -High Strength Steel, Diffusion bonding, Friction stir welding, Nano porous stainless steel for advanced application, Metal matrix composites, Ultra-high strength steel, Polymer matrix composite material, Thermo mechanical simulation of nonferrous alloys, Crystallographic Texture, Surface Engineering, Hot deformation of Steels, Composite Materials, Role of microstructure on wear Behavior of Steels, Advanced Manufacturing, Dissimilar material joining, High Temperature Mg alloy, Degradation of Metallic Materials.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates possessing M.Tech. / M.E. / M.Sc.(Engg.) / M.Arch. / M.U.R.P. / M.Plan. / M.T.R.P. / M.Sc. / M.A. / M.Phil. or an equivalent postgraduate degree in the relevant branch from a recognized University/Institute with minimum 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA on a ten point scale (throughout from class X to the qualifying degree) are eligible to apply for admission in the relevant departments.
For SC/ST/ Person with Disability (PwD) category, a minimum 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on 10 point scale (throughout from class X to the qualifying degree) is required.
