Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is a full-time doctoral programme that offers research scholars opportunities for advanced studies and research in a different area of 'management'. The programme aims to prepare research scholars for careers in teaching and research in management studies, for careers in the academic institutions and in other related disciplines and organizations that require advanced analytical and research capabilities. The Programme offers its research scholars a unique opportunity to engage in high-quality intra-disciplinary as well as interdisciplinary research. The Programme is committed to educating scholars who will become leaders in their fields of research. The complete guidelines about Ph.D. are given in the Ph.D. Handbook which will be given to each scholar at the time of registration to the program.

The objectives of the programme are:

To provide research scholars with the necessary skills to identify and research complex issues in the field of management.
To contribute to the creation, transmission and application of knowledge in the field of management.
To do research and publications of international standard in inter-disciplinary areas management that will add value to the society and to the body of knowledge.
To meet the teaching and research manpower needs of academia and industry by producing highly skilled individuals with exceptional analytical ability and training in conducting specialized research.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications to apply for IIM Jammu’s doctoral program:

Master’s degree in any discipline, with at least 60 percent marks or equivalent grade point average
Professional qualifications like CA, ICWA, CS with at least 50 percent marks or equivalent grade point average
Five years/four-year Integrated Master’s degree program in any discipline, with at least 60 percent marks, obtained after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.
4 years/8 semester bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech.) with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 out of 10 or equivalent.

Candidate must not be more than 40 years as on 1^st June 2023.

Candidates who have appeared/are appearing for the CAT/GMAT/GRE/GATE/JRF/NET(UGC/CSIR) (three years from the date of the standard test and should be valid on the deadline of submission of the application form) will be shortlisted on the basis of the details in the application form and the scores of tests as detailed below. Only the shortlisted candidates will then be called for interviews in the Month of May 2023 at IIM Jammu Campus.
