NLU Odisha Admission 2025: Dates, Application Form, Courses, Fees & Eligibility

• CLAT 2026 registrations are ongoing for admissions to BA LLB/ BBA LLB, and the last date to apply is October 31, 2025. 
• Entrance Exams Accepted for NLUO Admissions 2025: CLAT, CLAT-PG, NLU Odisha 3 year LLB Entrance exam/ NLUO All India Entrance Test, Research Entrance Test (NLUORET). 
• NLU Odisha Counselling: CLAT 2025 counselling registration fees is Rs 30,000 for general category students and Rs 20,000 for ST/ SC/ OBC/ BC/ EWS/ PWD.
• NLU Odisha Vacant Seats: 3rd Provisional Allotment List for PG vacant list has been released, and 4th provisional allotment for admissions to 5-year UG courses has been released. 

The National Law University Odisha (NLUO) admissions are offered for undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D programmes. The NLU Odisha admissions are offered for BA LLB, BBA LLB, LLM, M.Phil and Ph.D. NLUO admissions are based on scores of the CLAT Exam/written test/ merit of the qualifying examination. 

NLU Odisha BA LLB/BBA LLB admission is based on CLAT scores. NLU Odisha LLM admissions are based on the performance of the students in CLAT PG. Candidates who meet the CLAT cutoff requirement of the course should attend the CLAT counselling process. For admission to a three-year LLB course, candidates are required to obtain a valid score in the NLUO 3-year LLB entrance exam. 

NLU Odisha PhD admissions 2025 are based on the NLU Cuttack entrance test, conducted by the institute, work experience, and a presentation. Candidates who meet the CLAT eligibility criteria of the course can proceed with the NLUO admission process. The eligible candidates should complete the CLAT Registration process and fill up the application form to proceed with the admissions at NLU Cuttack in 2025.

The university offers 5 years of full-time NLU UG courses such as BA LLB Hons and BBA LLB Hons. NLU Odisha's 3-year LLB programme is joined after graduation.

NLU Odisha Admission Eligibility Criteria and Seat Intake for UG Courses

National Law University Odisha offers admissions for BA LLB Hons and BBA LLB Hons courses for duration of five years. Both courses are offered in full-time mode with a seat intake of 120 each.

NLU Odisha Admission Process for BA LLB (H)/BBA LLB (H)

• Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can attend the CLAT entrance exam.

• Candidates who meet the CLAT cutoff must attend the counselling process.

• The Shortlisted candidates will be allotted for the NLU Odisha admission.

• Selected candidates can submit all the required documents to NLU Odisha and pay the admission fee to confirm seats.

National Law University Odisha offers an LLB course in full-time mode. NLUO Cuttack LLB course is offered for duration of three years with a specified seat intake.

• After meeting the eligibility criteria, candidates are required to take the NLUO All India Entrance Test (NAIET) - 2024.

• Qualified candidates should attend the counselling process.

• NLUO LLB admissions will be based on the NLUO 3-year LLB entrance exam scores, rank list and seat availability of candidates.

• Selected candidates will be notified regarding the seat allotment.

• Final selected candidates should complete the document verification.

• To complete the admission process, the candidates should pay the NLU Odisha admission fee.

NLU Odisha offers various PG programmes, and admission to the LLM is done based on merit in the CLAT-PG entrance examination. The duration of the NLU Odisha LLM and M.Phil is 1 year and 2 years, respectively.

NLU Odisha Admission Eligibility Criteria and Seat Intake for PG Courses

National Law University Odisha offers admission to the LLM course for one year. NLUO Cuttack LLM admission is offered with the specialisation of Corporate Law and Commercial Law in full-time mode.

NLU Odisha LLM Admission Process 

• Candidates must meet the NLU Odisha eligibility criteria.

• Eligible Candidates must appear for the CLAT-PG Entrance examination 

• Based on the CLAT-PG entrance examination, the NLU’s consortium released the Cutoff for NLU Odisha LLM Admission. 

• Candidates who secured the eligible cutoff marks in the CLAT exam can participate in the counselling process to secure admission.

• The shortlisted candidates will be allotted for the NLUO LLM Admission.

• The admission process ends after verifying documents and paying the admission fee.

The college offers 2 NLU Odisha PhD courses Ph.D Law Part Time and Ph.D Law. The duration of the PhD courses is 6 years. The PhD programmes are available full-time and part-time.

NLU Odisha PhD Admission Process 

• Eligible candidates must register for the NLU Odisha PhD courses through the university website.

• Candidates must attend the Research Entrance Test (NLUORET) and obtain a valid score.

• Candidates who passed the NET/JRF exam conducted by the UGC need not appear for the entrance test.

• Candidates who passed the entrance test with a minimum of 50% will be invited to deliver a presentation.

• NLU Odisha PhD admissions will be granted based on the quality of the presentation, NET/JRF qualifications, and prior work experience. 

There are a total of 120 seats in the BA LLB course while 60 seats are being offered in the BBA LLB programme. 14 seats in BA LLB are reserved for candidates who are foreign nationals and NRI candidates, similarly, 7 seats in BBA LLB are reserved for foreign and NRI candidates. Further, the university offers reservations to the candidates domiciled in Odisha along with the general reservation policy of the state for SC and ST candidates.
