The Rama Devi Women's University, Bhubaneshwar was established in 1989 by Act No.5 as a state university. The college was accredited with a grade ‘A’ by the NAAC on September 16, 2004. The college was re-accredited with a grade ‘A’ in February 2015. The university is committed to providing quality education to women, especially those from rural and marginalised backgrounds. RDWU Bhubaneswar is affiliated with the University Grants Commission (UGC) and has established collaborations with several national and international universities and research institutes.
Rama Devi Women's University, Bhubaneswar offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in disciplines such as engineering, science, humanities, commerce, and management. Campus has basic facilities like 1. Hostels: Anindita and Ananya Hostel- Strength- 120 seats. Anupama Hostel - 30 seats for PG students. Indira Gandhi Post-Matric Adivasi Women's Hostel- This is a special hostel sponsored by the ST and SC Development Department. 2. Sports Complex Badminton Court and Basketball Court are there. 3. Labs are there 4. Library 5. Medical facility 6. Canteen and cafeteria

The infrastructure of the college is great the buildings are very nice and we'll maintained though it's a very old college but the infrastructure is still very nice the rooms are well ventilated and they provide natural sunlight to study
