Yes, SRM Amaravati is better in placements.

In the placement drive of 2021, the institute achieved 100% placements and more than 600+ companies participated in the placement drive. During the placement drive of 2021, the highest international CTC stood at INR 50 LPA and the highest domestic CTC stood at INR 29.5 LPA whereas the average CTC stood at INR 7 LPA.

The placements are centralised to all the campuses of SRM in Chennai, Kattankulathur, Sikkim, Amaravati, and Sonepat so all students get equal opportunities in getting placed in the companies they wish for and into the top companies and any core company that student might want to get into.

For Mechanical Engineering, many automobile companies like Mahindra & Mahindra ltd, Hyundai are visiting SRMAP. SRMAP mechanical students have been placed in L&T Technologies and Varroc which are core companies for manufacturing automotive components.

But, as Amaravati is the capital of AP and being devoloped in all dimensions, there is a lot scope for many companies to invest in amaravati and subsequently there is scope for good placements in SRM amaravati.

As per the analysis of previous years cut-off data, you have very good chances of getting CSE specialization in SRM Chennai campus. Because on the basis of analysis expected closing rank for this year is around 9500-10500 for CSE specialization in SRM Chennai campus.

Looking at the previous year CSE cutoff for SRMJEE paper, the closing rank for Computer Science and Engineering is 10000. SO, you have some good chances to get CSE branch in SRM university.

Furthermore, if you want to get CSE in KTR Campus, then You need to score less than 5k rank . And your class 12th marks shouldn't be less than 60% for getting admission in SRM KTR. All the best. It changes every year but to be assured for getting CSE in Kattankulathur, you need to be in the top 2-3 k.
