The infrastructure is good. It is having a huge campus with lots of activities to do, we have everything inside the campus like food outlets of subway, dominos and others. It is a residential program. So the hostel is near to the academics building.

Have a question related to SRM University Chennai ?

My son got 95.2% perceile in JEE mains first attempt ,wants CS have applied in manipal, vellore, ComedK, and BiTs. in Bits he is ok with electronic and communication in Goa also. Do I need to apply more colleges ,we dont want SRM. Between Symbiosis and Kalinga which is better (Wont give jee advance)

Hello there,

Your son has a strong 95.2% percentile in JEE Mains, which gives him a good chance for CS in decent colleges through COMEDK and Manipal. Here's a clear plan:

  1. Current Applications:

    • Manipal: Good chance for CS at Manipal or Jaipur campus.
    • VIT Vellore: High chance of getting CS in the second or third category.
    • COMEDK: Likely to secure CS in top colleges like RV, BMS, or MSRIT with that percentile.

    • BITS: If he's comfortable with ECE in Goa, that's a strong backup option since BITS has good placement in both CS and ECE.

  2. Additional Applications: No need to apply to more private universities unless you want extra backup.

  3. Symbiosis vs Kalinga:

    • Symbiosis: Better for management and business fields, not as strong in engineering.

    • Kalinga (KIIT): Better for engineering with strong infrastructure and placement in CS and IT fields.

Recommendation: KIIT is a better choice for engineering.

Overall, the current options (Manipal, VIT, COMEDK, BITS) are sufficient for CS. KIIT could be a backup, but Symbiosis is less suitable for CS.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, then feel free to share your questions with us, we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.

hi ,

Yes, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) in Chennai considers JEE Main scores for both direct admission and scholarship opportunities.

Candidates with valid JEE Main scores are eligible for direct admission to SRMIST, even if they haven't appeared for the SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination (SRMJEEE).

SRMIST offers the Founder’s Scholarship , which provides up to a 100% fee concession on tuition and hostel/transport fees. Eligibility criteria include:

  • Top 10,000 rank in JEE Main.
  • Top 100 rank in SRMJEEE (UG).
  • State first rank in Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations.
  • District toppers in HSC within Tamil Nadu.
  • Exemplary sports achievements at various levels.

For candidates with JEE Main ranks beyond the top 10,000, SRMIST may offer additional scholarships or fee concessions based on institutional policies and seat availability. These concessions can vary, and it's advisable to consult the official SRMIST admissions page or contact their admissions office directly for detailed information.
