Hello,
University of hyderabad doesn't offer courses for B.tech or B.E. It offeres courses higher than this such as M.Sc,M.Tech,M.Phil,MBA,P.hd etc.
But the university has started an integrated M.Tech course form 2014-2015.You can take admission in this. The admission to 5-year Integrated M.Tech. in Computer Science will be done through JEE(Main) examination coducted and the counselling for admission will be done by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSAA)/Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB).
But yo need to remember than leaving the program after 3 years will not get you a bachelor's degree. You need to complete the 5 yrs course to get your master's degree.
Minimum qualifications for admission:
As per JOSAA/CSAB guidelines. One of the criteria for admission is that the candidate should satisfy at least one of these two criteria: (i) The candidate is within the category-wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class XII (or equivalent) examination of respective stream and Board. (ii) The candidate has secured minimum 75% (for GEN or OBC-NCL) or minimum 65 % (for SC, ST or PWD) of aggregate marks in the Class XII (or equivalent) examination of respective stream and Board.
Best of luck!!
Hello Aryan,
NITs are always a worthy choice for technical degrees since they are rated as Tier 1 engineering colleges. You will get a great campus along with ample of opportunities.
But from the placement point of view, top NITs(Trichy, Warrangal, Surathkal) can only assure you a job after M.Tech. But it varies for different branches. For the Computer science department, placements are good in almost any NIT. For mechanical and civil, placements are very poor. If you are willing to do research or Ph.D. after Mtech then you can go for any good NIT because professors there have good connections with IITs or top institutes in foreign. They may recommend you if you are good enough. If you are looking for preparation of any competitive exam while doing M.tech, you can also prefer NIT.
Based on your GATE rank, If you don't get the top Nits, Hyderabad University is a very good option.
Here in the University of Hyderabad, most of the students are research oriented while many want to get into corporate sectors. There are many UPSC aspirants too. You will find a good and studious environment which will help you gear up with your dreams. Lecturers and professors too are mostly available in case any student needs their help.
All types of cultural Programs are held with pomp and show within the Campus. All students are invited to the programs. Fresher's, as well as farewell parties, are held too. The campus is politically active too especially during student elections. Every department has its own board members who look after the problems in the department and address them to their respective Deans.
So overall the campus life is good here.
And about placements, for computer science, people landing in a decent job won’t be a problem. Any other branch the job scenario may not be pretty good. So it is advisable to go through the previous years’ placement records before deciding.
Both NITs and the University of Hyderabad are good in their ways. You need to decide based on your interests and convenience.
Hope it helps!
For any other queries, you can revert back.
All the best!
