Can I get direct admission in SRM?
The SRM Institute of Science and Technology provides admission into many courses from varied fields like Engineering, Management, Medicine and Health Sciences, and Science and Humanities. For most of the courses, the SRM offers admission on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance examination conducted by the University. However, there are a few programmes for which admissions are done directly provided students fulfil the specific requirements. Candidates looking to secure a seat at SRM University under direct admission are required to meet all the conditions and requirements laid down by the authorities. Although admission into most of the courses at SRM is offered on the basis of marks in the entrance test, there are some courses that are open for direct admission.
Direct Admission in SRM B.Tech course
For admission into the undergraduate engineering courses, the authorities conduct their own entrance exam known as SRMJEEE. However, to encourage and support students of exemplary talent, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRM University) offers direct admission to first rank students of all the central and state boards in India, top 10,000 rankers in IIT JEE, top rankers in each district of Tamil Nadu and exemplary sports persons at National and International level.
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum 50% aggregate in PCM
Passed in Higher secondary examination (10+2 pattern ) or appearing in Higher Secondary examination in the current academic year with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies as major subjects in regular stream from any state board within India, CBSE, ISCE, Matriculation, or NIOS
Note: Students who have completed +2 under NIOS must have completed the 10th standard from regular schooling or vice-versa.
GCE A-level or International Baccalaureate(IB) diploma or IB certificate with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies as major subjects (equivalent to Advanced Placement level in each subject) in any International schools within India.
Direct Admission in SRM Management course

No, SRM University usually does not allow exchanging or transferring the exam fee between phases. Since you paid for Phase 3, you’ll need to pay separately for Phase 1 if you wish to appear earlier.
However, you can contact SRM admission helpdesk via email or phone, sometimes they make exceptions if registration is still open.

SRM University-AP is not listed in AP EAPCET spot admissions or Category B web options because it is a private university that conducts its own admission process. The institute fills vacant seats and admits students through its own entrance examination, the SRMJEEE, and other internal admission procedures.

After EAPCET 2024 final counselling, SRM University-AP filled the remaining vacant seats through their own admission process. Students who didn’t get a seat in EAPCET could apply via SRMJEEE. The university also shared last rank cut-offs for courses like CSE and ECE to guide admissions.

The SRM University is expected to conduct the BOT entrance test around 20-22 May 2026.
To be eligible, a candidate must have passed 10+2 (or equivalent) (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) with a minimum of 50 % marks.
