Ashoka International Centre for Educational Studies and Research, Wadala Admission

Ashoka International Centre for Educational Studies and Research, Wadala (AICESR) is a distinguished institute aiming at making quality provisions in education training. The institute follows a very arduous and competitive admission process to choose the most deserving candidates. For this reason, AICESR is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), and the functions of the institute are approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

To be eligible, candidates must be a graduate from any recognized university in India. Admission is strictly based on the merit of the candidates in the Central Entrance Examination (CET) conducted by the government through the Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited (MKCL). The CET tests the aptitude and knowledge base of a candidate relevant to the B.Ed program.

Another important condition, as the medium of instruction at AICESR is English, is that AICESR would also require candidates to pass an English language test of 50 marks. The purpose of this test is to ensure that the students who are offered admission have sufficient language proficiency to pursue their studies at AICESR with their full focus.

Application Process

The admission procedure for obtaining a B.Ed degree at the Ashoka International Centre for Educational Studies and Research, Wadala, is as follows:

  1. Central Entrance Examination (CET): All candidates applying for admission to the B.Ed program are expected to register and appear for the CET examination conducted by the government through the Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited (MKCL). This examination becomes the primary means of screening for all B.Ed aspirants.

  2. English Language Test: Following the CET, candidates intending to join AICESR have to take another English language test for 50 marks. This is special to AICESR due to the institute's medium of instruction being English.

  3. Preference for Colleges: Candidates who will pass both the CET and the English test will be asked to submit their preferences for B.Ed colleges.

  4. Centralized Admission: The government will conduct a centralized admission process based on the candidates' CET score and their preferences indicating choice of colleges.

  5. Document Checking: For verification, the primary documents need to be produced by shortlisted candidates for admission. Usually, the following documents are required during verification:

    • Graduation certificate and mark sheets

    • CET score card

    • The score of the AICESR-specific English language test

    • ID proof

    • Passport-size photographs

    • Any other document(s) listed by the authorities of the institute/government

  6. Confirmation of Admission: After successful verification of documents, allotment of the seat to AICESR through the centralized process enables the candidate to accept the admission by paying the necessary fee.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.Ed Admission Process: Established to offer a two-year full-time program in training for teachers, the B.Ed degree course at AICESR is a highly competitive and centralized procedure. The candidates first have to qualify through the CET conducted by the government through MKCL. A special requirement for AICESR applicants is passing an English language test of 50 marks given, because, as mentioned earlier, the medium of instruction is English. The maximum intake capacity sanctioned by the NCTE for the program is 100 students. After clearing both the CET and the English test, candidates submit their preferred options for colleges. The final admission of these candidates depends on the government-managed centralized admission process considering the performance in the CET and the submitted preferences.
