Baby Memorial College of Nursing, Calicut Admission Process

Baby Memorial College of Nursing (BMCN), Calicut, is a reputed college that is affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences and approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC). The college has a rigorous and merit-based admission procedure for its various nursing courses. BMCN's admission procedure is designed to select the most suitable candidates while having regard to government and university regulations.

The process of admissions generally begins in June/July, and notifications are issued on the college's website. BMCN has a double quota system for undergraduate programs, where half the seats (50%) are allocated to the Government Quota and the remaining 50% to the Management Quota (with an 15% NRI Quota being part of it). It is based on government and authority orders.

For B.Sc Nursing, the undergraduate program of note, BMCN admits students against a re-modified rank list for both Management and Government quotas. The student is chosen with reference to performance in the eligibility exam (10+2) with focus on science subjects.

Application Process

Application process for Baby Memorial College of Nursing also varies in terms of the program and quota:

For B.Sc Nursing:

1. Government Quota: The candidates apply under the centralized admissions notified by the government of Kerala.

Degree wise Admission Process

The performance of the candidate in 10+2 examination with a focus on science subjects is considered by the selection process. Government and Management quota options are merit-based.

Post Basic B.Sc Nursing: The capacity of this course is 30 seats. Admission under Government Quota is administered by the Lal Bahadur Shastri Centre for Science & Technology (LBS) on GNM marks. Admissions under Management Quota occur through online application through the admissions management system of the college, usually available from June/July.
