Bangabasi College, Kolkata Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college houses a fully equipped gymnasium for the fitness activities of the students. Under the supervision of the instructor, students can practice physical training with payment of a minimum amount of membership fees. The multigym, dumbbells, cycling, bench press, and weight training facilitate cardiovascular and abdominal exercises. There is also provision for a shower and changing room.

The College has College Library is primarily meant for “Books” – B (Built-in) O (Orderly) O ( Organized) K(Knowledge). The library has a collection of  28,653 books (as of 31^st March 2020 Audit Report).725 books added up to 31/03/2024 and the total number of books is now 29,378  on various subjects offered by the college along with books on religion, biography, and different types of dictionary, encyclopedia, etc. and some very rare books. 

The college has Besides the Annual Sports Meet, Football, and Cricket tournaments are held here periodically along with interdepartmental matches.

The College has a Computer Science comprised of a fully air-conditioned internet-enabled software lab that houses fourteen desktops connected through LAN. The PCs are set up to allow dual-boot Windows and Linux. They are always kept updated with the latest software to cater to the needs of the students. The Department also has a state-of-the-art hardware electronics laboratory. It focuses on training the students in both analog and digital design. The laboratory set-up also supports taking practical classes with microprocessor training kits and dual boot (Linux and Windows) desktop/laptop computers connected via LAN to a common server.

The College has a "Baithak-N-Khana", the Canteen on the ground floor of the College, which has been recently renovated for the students, faculty members, and staff and serves healthy food and meals at subsidized rates. It has been upgraded to maintain better hygienic standards and is well equipped to cope with the mid-beak rush, efficiently with additional space assigned recently.

A spacious state-of-the-art auditorium (91' ft. X 51'3"ft.) "Prasant Kumar Bose Memorial Hall", fully air-conditioned, dedicated to the memory of late Principal Acharya P.K.Bose has been set up at the entire basement area of the new building. The hall is well-equipped with high-end audio lighting and projection equipment and can accommodate around 500 viewers at a time.

The College has a History of the Alumni Association: The registered Alumni Association of Bangabasi College was formed during the late 1950s under the active initiative of the then Principal Prasanta Kumar Bose and it became an open platform for the former students, teachers, and non-teaching staff to meet their beloved mates and exchange views on several aspects related to the development of this institution.

The College has an entire college campus that has been Wi-Fi enabled in order to give free access to Internet facilities to the students and faculty alike.

The College has The Department of Physics, on the ground floor of the College, boasts of a recently overhauled and renovated, fully equipped, Wi-Fi and ICT enabled Laboratory with modern equipment and apparatus, catering to both Honours & General Course students.  

The College has two doctors on call who attend to the students who fall ill on campus. A stretcher is available in the College in order to immediately transfer the students fallen ill on campus to the nearby Hospitals. All the laboratory-based departments and the Students Union room are provided with First Aid kits, in case of emergency.

A cheap store located on the ground floor of the college caters to the needs of students by supplying textbooks, university question paper, and stationery items at a substantially lower rate than the market.

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.
