Whereas, you can easily secure a EVE, IT, Mechanical, Civil or any ither seat except CSE in the top colleges that you have mentioned.

You can get an idea about the cutoff for various colleges in TNEA examination. We cannot predict the rank vs. marks as the cutoff changes every year. Let me correct you- CIT is not the name of a branch in BTech, but it is actually the name of a college known as Coimbatore Institute of Technology affiliated under the Anna University.

There are various branches in BTech such as- civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, petroleum engineering, chemical engineering, computer science engineering, etc. which have different courses and cutoffs, but CIT is not the name of any such branch.

Master in computer application is certainly a good course start your career and if you do it from colleges such as NITs, then you surely boosts your network and has a larger brand value as compared to other colleges.

It's not that other streams such as mechanical, civil, electrical etc. do not have high scopes for salary packages but the field of computer science is surely more demanding than the former ones in terms of average package Income.
