Hello,
Getting ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering) in the below colleges depends on your cutoff marks and reservation category . Here's a general idea:
Sri Krishna College, Coimbatore – You may get ECE if your cutoff is around 170 or above (for OC). Easier for BC, MBC, SC/ST with lower cutoffs.
CIT (Coimbatore Institute of Technology) – Very tough to get ECE here. Need a high cutoff above 190 (OC). Even for other categories, cutoff is high.
Anna University Regional Campus, Coimbatore – You may get ECE if your cutoff is around 175+ (OC). Lower for BC, MBC, SC.
Loyola ICAM College, Chennai – You can get ECE with a cutoff around 160–170 (OC). Easier for reserved categories.
Sadhak College (if you meant Sadhakathullah Appa College or similar) – Easier chance. You can get ECE even with a low cutoff
So, If your cutoff is above 160 , you have a chance in most of these colleges, except CIT (needs very high marks). Cutoff needed is different for each category.
Hope it helps !
With a TNEA score of 185 in the BC category, you have a strong chance of securing admission to the Chemical Engineering program at CIT Coimbatore. In the last two years, the cutoff marks for BC students in this branch hovered around 180 to 186, and since your score meets or slightly exceeds those figures, you’re in a good position—especially in later counselling rounds.
Based on your cutoff score of 183 and ranks (General Rank: 28562, Community Rank: 1791 in SC category), let's assess your chances of getting a seat in PSG Tech or CIT.
PSG Tech Cutoff Analysis
The cutoff ranks for PSG Tech vary by course and category. For the SC category:
- The overall cutoff marks range between 72.664 and 96.077.
- For TNEA, the cutoff rank range for SC category is 1037-100541.
Given your community rank of 1791, you might have a chance at some courses in PSG Tech, but it depends on the specific course and round-wise cutoffs.
CIT Cutoff Analysis
Since specific cutoff information for CIT isn't available in the search results, let's focus on PSG Tech and general trends.
Possible Courses
Based on previous year's trends, here are some possible courses you could consider
- BE Computer Science and Engineering: Cutoff rank range for SC category is 12762-12762.
- Information Technology: Closing rank for SC category is 20995.
Next Steps
To increase your chances of getting a seat:
- Check course-wise cutoffs: Look up the specific cutoff ranks for courses you're interested in.
- Participate in counseling: Attend the counseling process and explore all available options.
- Stay updated: Keep track of the cutoff ranks, seat allocation, and other important updates.
While there's no guarantee, you can try for courses like BE Computer Science and Engineering or Information Technology, considering your ranks. However, it's essential to verify the current cutoff ranks and trends for the most accurate assessment.
