The college has basic infrastructure, like the basic lathe machines and stuff, not cutting edge technology just enough to get things going, the machines are poor and outdated, no standards of industries are met
Academics are fine but teachers do not teach the subjects properly, there are classes which are bunked regularly by the students and since the level is not great students are not scoring well, while the books are basic
Placements are average but it can be better, sub par companies offering low packages visit the college, one can expect 3lpa from this college, the ROI isnt that bad but then the packages aren’t great either so ya
Since the fees is pretty cheap you cannot complain, one gets good package if one compares the fees they charge, teachers are average, facilities are avergae basically for an average joe it is fine so ya
Campus life is fine, there is a canteen they make really good pasta, playing field is there for football, there are two blocks and a third new block and then there are open parking spaces and some hostels
College has good overall infrastructure. Classrooms are fully furnished and have projectors installed. Labs are well maintained, fully AC, and have high-end computers and GPUs available. Free WiFi for students is available all across the campus.
Faculty at CCET is appointed by UPSC, Delhi. So the quality of teaching is good and faculty have good teaching as well as domain experience. CCET follows curriculum recommended by Panjab University and students are also given degrees by Panjab University itself after completion of the course. Mandatory internship is there after every year which eventually makes the students industry ready.
College has a good placement record. Around 90% of the students from Computer Science were placed last year. College has a history of good campus placements with the highest package going upto 32 LPA and an Average package of around 6-6.5 LPA.
The College fee is around 60000 per annum. Given it's an engineering college this amount is very less as compared to other government and private engineering institutes. Education at this college is worth much more than the money they ask for and undoubtedly the college has one of the least cost per year all across India.
Campus life at CCET is fun. There are several clubs and societies established in the college which offer wide range of co-curriculum activities. College is located in the heart of the city with lush green surrounding the college and Sukhna Lake at a distance of just 5-10 minutes, which makes life at CCET even more exciting.
Yes the college has ample facilities that too all in good condition. It also has two canteens. There are various clubs to entertain us so that besides academics we can take part in extra curricular activities.
I am currently studying B.E. in Civil Engineering here. The teachers here are really supportive ,also civil department has the best faculty in this college as compared to other branches .The syllabus keeps changing as and when new curriculum is introduced.
To be honest the college provides good placements only for computer science and electronics students only. Placements for mechanical and civil brances is very low which range from 2-4L per annum, whereas on the other hand computer science placements goes till 6-8L per annum.
For all courses be it cse, ece, civil or mechanical it costs less than 3L (including the fees of 4yrs). And its absolutely worth it.

Considering your JEE Mains rank of 1.16 lakh and percentile of 92.2, let's evaluate the options:
Option 1: IPE in NIT Jalandhar
- Branch: Instrumentation and Process Engineering (IPE) might not be as popular as CSE or ECE, but it's a niche field with good job prospects.
- College: NIT Jalandhar is a reputable institution with a good rating (4.1/5).
Option 2: CSE in UIET Hoshiarpur
- Branch: Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is a highly sought-after field with excellent job opportunities.
- College: UIET Hoshiarpur is affiliated with Punjab University, and its CSE program has a rating of 3.7/5.
Option 3: ECE in CCET Chandigarh
- Branch: Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) is a core branch with good job prospects.
- College: CCET Chandigarh is located in a prime location, offering access to various opportunities, and has a better faculty compared to UIET Hoshiarpur. ECE at CCET is considered better than most courses.
Based on the information, here's a suggestion:
- If you're interested in CSE, UIET Hoshiarpur might be a good option, but consider the college's reputation and placement record.
- If you're inclined towards ECE, CCET Chandigarh seems like a better choice due to its location, faculty, and placement opportunities.
- IPE in NIT Jalandhar is also a viable option if you're interested in the instrumentation and process engineering field.
Ultimately, prioritize your interests and career goals when making a decision. Consider factors like college culture, location, and alumni network in addition to branch and college reputation.
Yes, you can participate in the special and spot round counselling for JAC Chandigarh. Since you have already been allotted ECE in CCET, you can still opt for higher preference courses like CSE in the special round if seats are available.
Make sure to follow the instructions provided by the counselling authority and keep an eye on the official website for updates regarding the special and spot rounds. Be prepared to fill in your preferences again and ensure all necessary documents are ready for submission.
