48 MonthsBachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Food Technology is a four-year full-time course offered by Central Agricultural University, Imphal, and approved by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
Candidates seeking admission in B. Tech. (Agril. Engg.) and B.Tech. (Food Tech.) programmes of the college/university must have secured not less than 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at the 10+2 examination level for the general category and 40% marks in case of SC/ST and other special categories. Further, English should be one of the subjects of study at the 10+2 level. The candidate must have attained the age of 17 years on 31st July of the year of admission. He/ she should be a permanent resident or domicile of any one of the six states of the NEH region, namely Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim, and Tripura. This condition is not applicable to candidates who are nominated by ICAR.
Depending upon the number of seats allocated to above above-described states of the NEH region, the respective states nominate students out of the merit list prepared by the concerned departments of each state based on the performance of students in the common entrance test conducted by them. The ICAR nominees are governed by the eligibility as prescribed by ICAR and are selected by ICAR based on the performance of candidates in the All India Entrance Test (AIET) conducted by ICAR.
