Placements

We had excellent placements during the 2014–16 academic years. A large number of students were first given internships and subsequently full-time jobs. Our seniors were a group that even managed to secure work visits abroad including to places like Singapore because of the colleges established partnerships.

The placement prospects for BBA students in Sikkim Manipal University are relatively fewer as opposed to technology-based courses. The majority of the on-campus recruitment is IT and consulting based, so core business or management placements are relatively fewer in number. Yet, corporations like Adrosonic, Accenture, TCS, Infosys, and Wipro also recruit on campus, and a limited number of management positions are available during pooled placement drives.

Placements

During my tenure at Manipal University, placements for the BCA course were decent. Although the university had a good placement cell, most of the top companies like Amazon or Palo Alto concentrated on engineering or tech-specialized courses. For BCA, some students got placed in companies like Accenture and Infosys, but most had to find jobs off-campus. Placement support was present, but the competition was high and opportunities limited.

What about environment (season) in sikkim where SMIT is established..?

Hello,

The institute is situated in the river of the beautiful banks of Teesta. It is far from the city crowd. It has a most pleasant and peaceful environment for education. The placements are very good. Also the climate are pleasant. Mostly the winter attitude is present there all over the year. But rain has also come. Overall it is very much body soothing.
